Lambert Retired From Football
Former Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert has officially retired from the world of football.
The 35-year-old striker has been without club status since he left Cardiff City in January. In his last interview, he admitted that he felt lucky to live, and had a career like he has now.
“I was lucky because I could be involved in this sport, for a long time,” the former England striker told reporters.
“I have ups and downs in my career. But I can play for clubs like Southampton, Liverpool, and represent my country in the World Cup. It has exceeded my wild dreams. ”
“Playing and scoring for England, is probably the proudest moment of my career. I will look back, and imagine my way to reach that level, with a pleasant memory. ”
“I want to thank the fans of all the clubs I have ever represented. I am especially grateful to Southampton fans, I am enjoying my best years there, and have a special relationship with everyone in the club. ”
“I want to thank all the players I’ve played with, managers who have trained me, I am honored to work with you all.”
